This one was somehow inspired by a discussion of the Great Red Spot on Jupiter that came up during the latest episode of Dr. Kiki’s Science Hour.

Holdover
It outlived it’s usefulness
so long ago,
but still it won’t stop
and there’s no way to know
just when it will rise up
and try to take hold
as you search for some way
to keep it controlled.
